Humanism, like most interesting topics, is difficult to define. The working definition for this South African Humanist blog is that a humanist believes that reason, scientific investigations, and a stance of scepticism are the best ways for humanity to advance.
This has generally led to humanists being naturalists and to some extent opposed to religion. Although religious humanism has been a branch of humanism.
